Resume
RESUME OF GEOFFREY E LEVITT
I want my work to engage the imagination of the viewer, to be elegant and to be fun. I experiment with color, lines and shapes. My work is contemporary and colorful. Not being afraid of using bold color much of my work ends up very vibrant and full of bold color. I also create mobiles because I love their movement and three dimensional effect. I like to think my drawings also reflect this motion of my mobiles. I work in acrylic mostly and enhance them with ink. My multi media pieces use some of these same concepts. I am largely a self taught artist and owe my love of art to my father, Edward Levitt, a Disney Artist, who encouraged me and demonstrated to me what good art is.
I was a member of Experimental Artists for years and have also exhibited with them. I have also in the past exhibited with the AV Wild Bunch. I am proud of having had thirteen solo shows. I have been a member of the Los Angeles Art Association for over four years. I am an exhibiting member of the California Art League. I am a founder and member of 100 Vibrant Artists and Poets of Los Angeles.
My "formal" art training includes classes at Otis Parsons, Yosemite Art Center, Robert Burridge, John Campbell Folk Art School, and Antelope Valley College.
